Get in Touch: Benewah Records

This is a private reference site, not a government office. We cannot confirm custody or release anyone, post bond, or retrieve official booking records. Contact the originating agency directly for those answers. This site is not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA, and its information is not for credit, employment, insurance, tenant screening, or another FCRA-covered purpose.

Where to Ask for a Benewah Record

Use the agency that created the record and identify the custody stage you mean. The official Sheriff's site does not publish a separate records line, public roster URL, booking-photo policy, or current fee schedule, so the Sheriff's main phone is the records-request fallback.

  • Benewah County Sheriff's Office and county jail records: Start with the official Sheriff page. The office is at 701 W College Ave, Suite 301, St Maries, ID 83861, and the main number is 208-245-2555. No separate records-unit or non-emergency number is published. Ask that line for the current public-records custodian, submission method, any required form or residency statement, and the applicable fee estimate. For the countywide lookup and request sequence, use the Benewah home guide.
  • Benewah County Court: The courthouse is at 701 W College Ave, Suite 203, St Maries, ID 83861. The court phone is 208-245-3241, and the listed office hours are Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Use the County Court page and Idaho MyCourt for public, unsealed case information and disposition questions. A court search is not a live jail roster or a booking-photo source.
  • St. Maries Police: The current police page routes non-emergency calls to 208-245-2555 and links the city's written police-record request route. Requests may be made through the online form or in person at City Hall, 602 College Ave, St Maries, Idaho 83861. The citywide records page lists custodian Jaidyn Kinzer at jkinzer@cityofstmaries.org, 208-245-2577, and fax 208-245-6579. Confirm which agency holds the record. A St. Maries incident report and a county booking packet may require separate requests.
  • Plummer Police and city records: Plummer Police and City Hall use 880 C Street, Plummer, ID 83851, with police phone 208-686-1641. The Plummer public-records page names Records Custodian Rhiannon Veltri at rhi@cityofplummer.org. Deliver a request to 880 C Street or mail it to PO Box B, Plummer, Idaho 83851. Use the city's official request form, ask for an electronic copy and fee estimate, and verify any current extension or appeal instructions.
  • Coeur d'Alene Tribal Police: Use the official Tribal Police page and its Reports & Forms route for a tribal incident or booking-record request. Administration is at 125 S 10th Street, Plummer, ID 83851, 208-686-2050. Dispatch and non-emergency calls go to 208-446-1854; the anonymous tip number is 208-686-2076. These are separate tribal channels, not proof of Benewah County Jail custody. For a tribal-related warrant question, the site's active-warrants link leaves for Kootenai County, so verify jurisdiction before relying on it. For safety information, call 911 when appropriate.
  • Post-release supervision and state custody: A county booking or release is different from an IDOC record. For a state prisoner, probationer, or parolee, use the Idaho Department of Correction resident/client search. IDOC says the search is updated daily, but its public results do not establish a mugshot field. Use the IDOC JustFOIA portal or the IDOC contact route for a state records or photo request. County warrant questions should go to the issuing agency or court; the site's local warrant guidance is on Wanted Fugitives.
  • Federal or immigration custody: Use the Federal Bureau of Prisons inmate locator for possible federal incarceration and the ICE Online Detainee Locator for a possible immigration detention matter. BOP and ICE are separate custody channels, not Benewah County rosters or general booking-photo sources. A transfer does not erase the need to request the original county or arresting-agency record separately; ICE generally requires exact identifying details such as name and country of birth with date of birth, or an A-number.
